4 miles walked before work, 2 miles walked at lunch and 4 miles walked after work. All this extra walking is helping with the weight loss :)

I love it when I'm a good inspiration instead of a bad example hahaha

Yesterday's walking was 4 miles before work, 2 miles at lunch and 5 miles after work. It's about time, I finally broke the 4 miles barrier  :)

Monday: 5 miles walked before work, raining at lunch and 12 miles on the bike after work. 82 degrees, humidity and the bright sun is not a good combo for me to walk in.

Yesterday: storms in the morning, 2 miles at lunch, which included me falling on my knees/chest/arms in the road (must have been a heck of a sight) so that ended my exercising for the day!

Dianne,
So sorry to learn of your fall. Hope you didn't hurt yourself.
We finally ordered a folding treadmill online. Got a good deal. Now where did I keep those running shoes ?  ~tnk~

Thank you all  ~tku~ After getting the knees replaced my greatest fear was falling, all I could think was I would break them and have to get them re-replaced NOT on my list of things to do! Not to mention breaking a hip, we just don't bounce like we did when we were young  ;D These knees must be a lot tougher than I thought, not even a bruise, not even my pride. When you get to be a certain age it takes a lot obviously to get embarrassed.

No soreness yesterday so went back out for more walking (glutton for punishment) 4 miles before work and 2 miles at lunch

Another two days and our treadmill will be delivered. Can someone here, guide me what would be the best way to go about it. I mean, how should we start ?

Start slowly & gradually build up. Your treadmill might have adjustments for incline as well as speed. Start with walking, then jogging after a few days & eventually a trot / run. Mix your routines to have a little of each. But do remember that treadmills have a cushioning effect & are not good for the knees in the long run. Do try to add outdoor walking / running if you can. Adding some weight training to your workout would be the best.

Bad knees is why I bought an elliptical instead of a treadmill.  Sadly with all my back issues I haven't been able to use it as much as I would like.
