I finished the second leg of my Fitbit "adventure" yesterday and went over about 400 steps so today will only be 10,147 steps and I have done 1400 this morning before leaving for an appointment with my Cardiologist.  That will take up some time but shouldn't be too bad.  Just a follow up to make sure the artificial heart valve is operating OK and it feels like it is.  Hard to realize it's been 1 1/2 years since it was put in and I feel much better than I did two years ago.   :D

7003 steps yesterday.  The cat commandeered my lap a couple times thus cutting down the stepping time during commercials.  :( but  :) too as he is a cuddle bug.

Today I start the fourth and last leg of the Fitbit "adventure" of 42,000 steps divided into 4 day legs.  I have done a bit over each day (11,300-11,500 each day ) so only 7608 steps left to the end.

Yesterday I finished my four day Fitbit "adventure" for a total of 42,000 steps for the four days.  Initially it is hard to see how much climbing would be done following this trail.  The map is an aerial photograph with the trail imposed on it and it looks flat however there are landmarks along the way where they have panoramic photographs that really show how rugged and steep some of the area is.  It is beautiful and in some places stunning but I would have to say trying to hike the actual trail would be best left to someone younger than me.   :)
It was a fun way to add some adventure to just walking around in a circle.  Right now there are only three of these adventures but I am sure there will be more to come.  There has been a lot of work invested in doing these and it is fun to try them.  Probably start over with the first one.

An amazing 10,140 steps yesterday!!

I never dreamed I'd be taking that many steps in a day!  I might have to rethink getting a fitbit!

Excellent Barbara, that's like 5 miles as Wally said. I'm sure it is helping you with those very good numbers that you post.

Very true. Walking on a treadmill is the most boring thing. I love to walk outdoors. This is good use of technology.

Yeah, I find walking on a treadmill more like work and walking outdoors is enjoyable.  Fortunately there is a lot of land here and most of the time the weather is not bad at all.  Being outside with the birds, bees and bunnies is far more fun.

A totally surprising 11,086 steps yesterday!!  And I wasn't even try to go that high.

I did notice this morning my shins are a little tender so may back off a bit today.  The cat has already firmly planted himself in my lap so that will slow me down a bit.  Though I have already gone to the farmer's market, Post Office and grocery shopping giving me 3296 at this time.  I do a lot in the evening, walk every commercial, circles and figure 8's in the house.

But a cat in your lap is guaranteed to bring all progress to a screeching halt!  ;D ;D ;D

Very true. I live close to a Dairy establishment which has around 3000 acres of grasslands & pristine forests. There is traffic in there, but only on the main roads. The ancillary roads are very nice & quiet. If one is lucky, an occasional leopard can also be spotted.

But going in there, requires that I chart out special time for it. So I hang on to dear life on the traffic laden roads of Mumbai and walk 2-3 kms every other day. It's like an obstacle course in training school for wannabe marines, but it reminds me everyday that life is such a precious gift.
