After all the gluttony & sloth, I worked out today after a long break. Again I find my body crying out to me to stop. Again I have to go through the whole rigmarole.

You really have been doing a super job Barb.  I hope to be back on this thread posting reasonable numbers but for now 1000 steps seems to be my limit.  Getting stronger though !   ;)

Bigskygal, you're my hero too. Yesterday, I took the Sunday off. Now I'm not well, so it's going to be a longer lay off.

You are all my heroes. For the weekend we had gone out for a small holiday to a hilly area near here. Saturday morning both AJ and I took a short hike up the hills for about 3 hours. It was exhausting but fun. The smell of fresh air still lingers.
From evening today, it is going to be the TM and the bike.

10,335 steps yesterday.  The phone slipped out of my pocket into the recliner.  I didn't notice it for a while.  Don't know how many steps I missed.

I have started doing a little (very little!) power walking each day, followed by a few minutes of regular walking.  There is a long hallway in the office building where I work that is perfect for it, especially now that it is rainy season.  I have found that even that little bit (maybe 5 minutes) seems to boost my evening energy.

That's great Mary. All activity helps, even short duration. But I did read a study a long time ago, which said that to extract full benefits, exercise duration must be at least 13 minutes. Not that 5 minutes will not help, but if you can increase it slightly, it'll help you most.

10,618 steps yesterday.

Well, shoot skb, my steps are mostly done in the evening during commercial breaks on the TV, so each set is about 5 min or whatever commercials run.  I'll have to make a point of doing several blocks of 13 min. during the day.

That is definitely something to shoot for.
