Not back to where I would like to be yet but slowly getting stronger.  It really seems to be a slow process but I am not going to push harder than I feel good with and not setting any goals yet.  I managed 7051 steps yesterday which is my best day so far.  I am also making sure that I get at least 250 steps every hour and not sit for prolonged periods.  Actually it is quite a change from a month ago when I got out of the hospital and needed a walker just to get from my bedroom to the bathroom.  At that time I didn't know if I would ever be able to get around without a walker so my progress has been pretty good.   ~yes~

Great improvement Wally. I've also started with some lesser weights. My muscle tear is now behind me. But as an add-on I have started running on inclines, which I hadn't done in quite some time. Right now only doing bursts of 100 mtrs at a time, but I'll be increasing that slowly.

9,575 steps yesterday.

I fell twice last night! Both wrists are bruised and my left knee is black and blue, ribs on right side very sore.  Don't know how many steps I'll get in today.  At least I didn't hit my head this time!

Dammit! I thought maybe that had subsided . . . it's been awhile.  >:(

Me too Shanny, me too!!  These falls were a little different, I didn't black out.  I knew I was going down and was able to put my hands out to catch myself.  I guess my legs just gave out underneath me...

I see my pcp tomorrow so will discuss it with him.

Geeze Barbara, that is a bummer.  Hope you get better soon.  Falling is something I have to watch out for, my balance is not as good as it used to be, but so far not a problem.
7374 steps yesterday and feeling pretty good.  Honestly if it was warmer outside I think that it wouldn't be hard to get 10K steps in a day but walking inside the house isn't much fun for me.   :D

7734 steps yesterday.  Stiffer today probably another low step day.

Dr didn't have anything to say about the falls other than "ouch" when he saw the bruises on my wrists.  But then I told him these falls weren't the same as the earlier ones, so I guess he didn't think it needed to be addressed.  sigh...

It really irks me to get blown off by the docs about these things. BH has had some bad falls which has made me super cautious. For years I've taken stairs one-at-a-time for fear of losing my balance & any time we're out & about, I am doubly careful of even one step up or down from a curb. And now that I use my hiking pole cane all the time, it helps so much, and I'm doubly thankful that BH has started using his too. He used to take off across our gopher pockmarked yard like some old mountain goat, and I'd shudder . . .  ???

Wally, that is great news. You're almost back to your old stats.
Bigskygal, hope you are all fine now and the sores are a thing of the past.

Yeah, Shanny, it irks me too!  I take stairs one at a time and hold  the railing.  I did PT earlier this year and there wasn't much lasting carry over into real life.  These falls were different,  but hello there is a history of falls here!  It scares me because sometime I may  not get up off the floor.

I can imagine. The same thing happens to me when I go rowing. The mind says "Go, go, go" and the body says "No, no, no"  ;D

Tried a little more snow shoveling today, but between my ribs and knee, it is still a no go.  Some chance of more snow tonight and tomorrow.  :(

And you sure don't wanna slip while shoveling, and have yet another fall.  :(
