Finally, I started with a mild workout of a 2 km walk / run / climb with slight degree of difficulty which gave me a calorie expenditure of approximately 3 km walk. Will build on this gradually. No weights yet, as I'm still on the heavy dose of baking soda for my stones.

Today the workout was better. Climbed a mile on various inclines to give me a calorie expenditure of 3.5 kms, plus introduced some light weight dumbbells as well. Liver, are you listening ?

Which reminds me that I have not graced the gym in about 2 weeks. Maybe today  :(

1637 steps yesterday, not a lot but it is for me right now.  It's not easy to get a lot of steps when you have to push a walker every where but I was able to walk a ways with a cane only.  I am looking forward to being able to get along with the cane instead of the walker but it will be a bit longer.  I also did routine PT exercises yesterday including leg exercises and upper body weight training for about an hour.  I did feel it afterward so it must be doing some good.

More rain headed our way after a few days break.  Sadly, I have to work straight through lunch today to get everything done that must be done :(  So I have walked up and down the hallways a couple times, but it's really not a lot of steps.  Still, it does help to stretch my legs and my back.  Yesterday I got in a short 10 minute walk, plus I was up and down the stairs doing laundry, vacuuming, and changing the bed.  I slept really well last night and I'm sure it was from the activity.

All you guys are great role models. Just by reading this thread & BSG's consistent entries, I finally wound up at the gym yesterday. Sarge was a little upset, but once he became aware of mum's illness, he was OK with my absence.
So, I worked out (a little) yesterday and I'm aching all over today. But, we will keep this going. That's a promise.  ;)

Well, 1720 steps yesterday.  A bit more than the day before so that's positive.  I put some time using a cane instead of the walker to try and wean myself off of the walker.  It works, kind of, but it is going to take some time to be useful all of the time.  Still a long way from where I started.

I may have mentioned this before here, but I do better with a long hiking staff than an ordinary cane. I have a quad-cane too, but I never use it for walking - I like the hiking pole a lot better - the shorter canes just don't work as well for me.

9,602 steps yesterday.  Feeling better today.

1944 steps yesterday.  Getting close to breaking 2K  ~clp~
Maybe not a lot but for me it's progress.  I also did leg exercises and upper body weight lifting so overall a good day.
Shanny, I have a "Bubba Stick" which is like a hiking staff and it just was not much of a help so I bought a cane with a handle that is bent horizontal and is adjustable for height.  Right now I need to lean on it fairly hard and this works a lot better for me.  Eventually I hope to not need it at all.
