9,856 steps yesterday.

I will be so glad when all this remodeling is finished at the grocery.  Yesterday they had moved all the refrigerated cases from the side of the store to the back of the store.  Think cheeses, bacon, cold cuts sausages...  The check out clerk said they may be done by the end of March.  Ugh!  It really makes shopping so unpleasant!

And I dislike shopping to begin with - they don't have to do much to put me off any further!  >:(

But you're closing in on 10K steps!  `8)

And have you'all noticed that most every grocery store has their milk, meat, cheese etc. (all the good stuff) at the BACK of the store?  Our market remodeled and enlarged its square footage and it is now something like 22,000 square feet and of course the meat is the farthest thing away from the entry door.  The beer and the carbonated drinks are near the front.

I said I was going to take it easy yesterday and I did.  Not sure about today, I will see how I feel.
We have a new Super Wall-Mart in town and it is over 100,000 sq. ft.  Naturally things you want are at opposite ends of the store so it ends up being quite a bit of walking.  That can be a good thing, especially when the weather outside is poor, but right now it can be a bother.  It does make it easier to get your steps in when it is over 100° outside though.   :D

Very impressive, everyone. I don't post here everyday because my gym routine is more or less constant. I work on most of the machines there, but I really like it when doing the same thing in natural environs. Real rowing and stair climbing is much more fun than the rowing or stepper machines. And yes, large malls give me a lot of steps as well.

Well, I did manage 4264 steps yesterday and felt pretty good.  I am also making at least 250 steps every hour for 10 hours from 8AM to 6PM.  My Fitbit prompts me to get up and move at 10 min. before the hour if I haven't gone at least 250 steps.  I think it helps to not sit for too long before moving.
After getting X-rays taken today I will be doing some shopping so maybe get some more steps.

This is not conjecture - it's absolutely true. If I don't get up about every 30 minutes, I will find that I can almost NOT get out of the chair!  :(

Well, I ended up with 5277 steps yesterday which was a surprise but I guess walking up and down the aisles of a Super Walmart will do that.
I had X-rays of my repaired hip yesterday and found out that the pin runs the full length of my femur, all the way down to my knee.  I wasn't aware of that and should have asked more questions when I met with the surgeon after the operation but I have an appointment with him Friday so I can get more info.
Yeah Shanny, often I have found that the best thing to do when stiff and sore is to walk it out and it gets better.  Not always, but most of the time.  Sitting too long caused things to stiffen up and that's not so good.

9,204 steps yesterday.

It was snowing in the evening and I had to go out to clear my satellite dish.  Coning in, I slipped on the steps and put a huge gash in my right shin.  Geesh! Today maybe a lower number...

Barbara, I think that is the third fall in recent months. Please be careful. Hope there is no other injury other than the cut.

I really had planed to kind of take it easy yesterday but the mailbox door broke and I went back and forth with tools etc. to fix it.  It's about a 600 step round trip and I ended up with 5926 steps which is the highest I have managed in a day since my accident.  So much for taking it easy but at least I feel OK.
Barb  :o  snow on the steps is treacherous indeed.  Hope you are OK and be careful !!!!!
