That's great going bsg. I haven't been to the gym for 3 evenings now. I intend to hit it with all my vigour today.

6,995 steps yesterday.  Not stellar.  Lots of ~ cat ~ ~ cat ~  and my knee was aching so kind of backed off the steps.  Knee seems OK today...

Not stellar?  Are you kidding?  I would be doing a happy dance if my step count was that number.  Take good care of yourself.

Ditto that ^^ bsg. Good going.

I also "hit" the gym like I said I would and I realised that the body is also prone to rusting like iron. Just 3 days absence and it felt like I am starting all over again.  ???

Rocky - You have described the body accurately when one takes a short vacation from working out or moving.  I've returned to riding my stationary bike and boy do my legs complain loudly!  I managed 2.2 miles yesterday and 2.6 miles today, so it is a start for an old coot like me.

9,644 steps yesterday.

Good for you Grammabear!  I have an elliptical but it is too hard on my knees so I stick with the steps.

So true Rocky, it is always hard to get started again after time off.  And the older one gets the harder it is!

grammaB ~  I am fortunate to have a recumbent bike which is kind to my lower back and my knees....but still a challenge to these old "bones".   :)  Your step count is awesome.

That's fantastic Kathy. Sometimes, a little music helps you go the extra mile. I also suggest not using any tightening pressure on the wheels for now, because your knees hurt. Ride for a couple of weeks without adding any degree of difficulty.

5133 steps yesterday which was a good day for me.  Monday after sitting most of the time for 6 1/2 hours at the surgery center for my MOHS surgery when I got home I had a hard time walking as my right knee tended to "let go" and I had to use the cane to keep upright.  I wondered what had happened to cause me to have such a hard time and then it dawned on me "sitting".  Yesterday proved the point.
Rocky, I remember when we were told that when working out, especially with weights, that is was necessary to rest the next day to allow the muscles to repair themselves.  After a good workout you were usually sore the next day.  As I got older it became the next two, and maybe even three, days.  It is true though that the longer you put it off the harder it is to do a workout.  These days it is the same for me with just walking.  The more I walk the better I do.  Laying off sometimes is necessary but it takes walking again to get back to where I was.

That is quite true. Sarge doesn't allow us to repeat weights on 2 consecutive days. The other day is reserved for aerobic exercise.

So you have the 'automatic lap warmer' in place again?
