5580 steps yesterday.  I am not posting here every day.  The fact that 5K steps is a good day for me and I can't do it every day is, well, not depressing, but kind of disappointing.  I know that it takes time to recover from a broken hip but I really want to be able to be back to normal and I am impatient.  On the plus side I am making small improvements.  I am able to walk better and a bit further without any support from my cane.  I am able to bend over further and can just touch my feet but I still can't tie shoe laces.  Sorry, just venting, I know things will get better and there are people in worse shape than me.

Wally - Maybe it would help you if you thought of where you were 2 months ago, healthwise, in comparison to where you are today.  I have an acquaintance who broke her hip over a year ago and she is no where near the progress you've made.  Be proud of what you accomplish.

Best wishes at your check up and have a safe journey.  Will be looking forward to hearing of your appointment evaluation.

Well I'm in worse shape than ever . . . my left sacroiliac joint went on a tear last week, and I can barely get up & down. Then two days ago my right ankle swelled up like a balloon with commensurate pain, and it literally would not bear weight. I tried to use a swivel chair base to scoot around, but it wasn't very effective; I finally tried the old pair of crutches we've had bouncing around here for years, and that wasn't overly helpful either, but finally last night I took a pain pill, slept for six hours, and woke up mostly better on both counts, so I guess I'll taken another one tonight & hope it improves even more tomorrow.

The erratic nature of this crap drives me CRAZY! I can expect my arms to ache if I've picked up too heavy a load, and I can expect my neck to be stiff if I've fallen asleep sitting up in a bad position, but I have not twisted my back or turned my ankle.

8,155 steps yesterday.  ~ cat ~

Wally, it's OK to vent!  You are doing great!

Shanny, so sorry to hear of your problems. Hope you are feeling better soon.  ~hug~ ~hug~

Me thinks, you are all doing great.
Shanny, hope you are back to normal again.
Kathy, your numbers are getting better each day.
Wally, 5k steps with a broken hip is remarkable. With effort, the shoe laces will come around.
On my vacation, I had to carry 2 bags of about 20 kgs each, one floor down to the car, and then up and down trolleys, scanners & conveyers at the airports and then one floor up again to the house. My right lower arm is hurting, reminding me of age related issues catching up with me. So, it's all part of the game, but we have to keep trying and keep doing until we can.

Shanny, Hope you are feeling better already.

I have not been able to go to the gym for the last few days due to work pressure. And I don't think I'll be able to, till maybe Monday. So I guess, it will be another round of sore muscles for me as well.

Shyam? I know you aren't yet disabled like we are, but when we HAD to travel last summer, the airline flagged that we needed assistance, and they had attendants with wheelchairs at every stop, and carried all our luggage the whole way. So if/when you ever need it, be sure to ask for help.
