7881 steps yesterday so even though I am still a bit sore after my "incident" it hasn't effected my walking.  Yesterday was my highest step count yet after my accident and it was the 8th day in a row over 6K steps so not doing too bad.
Barbara, I absolutely hate commercials and have recorded hours of my favorite shows with my Tivo and used editing software to remove the commercials and archive the results on a hard drive that plays on my Blue Ray player.  I can watch a variety of my favorite shows all day with no commercials.  That is why I am happy that my Fitbit prods me to get up each hour and walk at least 250 steps.  Without that I know I could go for way too long sitting.
I have always said that I don't have allergies and felt that was true but I cannot ignore the symptoms I have been having.  Definitely not a cold and right now the pollen count is quite high.  This morning I had a runny nose, cough, itchy throat and watery eyes so I broke down and took a Benadryl  about an hour ago and all of the symptoms are gone so I think I have to admit I do have allergies !

You're right on target about the allergies, Wally. I've had them all my life, but it wasn't until I met my everlovin' who realized how bad mine really were, and made me an appointment with an allergist (which was pretty high-handed considering we weren't even married yet at that time!  ;) ).

I took desensitization shots for a few years, but then we moved from Colorado to Missouri - very disparate climates - so I've never been tested again since moving to Missouri. At the time we moved, my allergist told me 'I'm glad you're moving to Missouri - the more moist climate will help - but I'm sorry you're moving into a 100-year-old house, because it's been accumulating dust/pollen/mold/mildew for 100 years, and that won't help.' :-\

The benchmark I've always used is fever . . . infections are often accompanied by elevated body temperature. Not so much allergies.   And you hit the nail right on the head with the success of the treatment . . . pretty hard to deny when the benedryl zapped the symptoms!   ;D

ETA: There are days when all I do is take my pills with a glass of pure natural well water, and it sets off a sneezing fit . . .

another ETA: the other thing that drives me crazy is that my nose itches like it's been bitten by a dozen mosquitoes. I have to smear it regularly with numbing gel to keep from scratching it off my very face!

Yeah Shanny, it's about time I accepted that I do have allergies, although not that bad yet.  The one tiny Benadryl cleared up all of the symptoms and I feel fine now.  That is a good thing.
This house is only 65 years old but surrounded by Pine trees and loads of brush that seems to be in bloom all of the time.  Right now there is a ton of pollen in the air.  The pollen from the pine trees turns the concrete yellow !

Only 5,372 steps yesterday.   ~ cat ~ in lap but also got sucked into binge watching True Blood on Amazon. No commercials to get me up..

No fit bit here so I rely on the commercials to get me up and moving.  I get around 200 steps per set of commercials.

Allergies are flaring up big time here too.

Very impressive count Wally. You're nearly there, at your old level.

I'm taking the weekend off from the gym. So I will be going there only on Monday evening.

8158 steps yesterday.  That is the first time I have gone over 8K so I like that.  That makes 9 days in a row over 6K and that is a very big improvement.  I think I can set my goal up to 6K from 5K now.  Pretty happy how it's going right now but I am not trying to push it.
Thanks Rocky, yeah, I am getting closer as the days go by and at least it looks like I will be getting back to where I was but I am not going to try to get there too fast.

It's the oak pollen that turns everything yellow out here, and it's earlier in the spring.  And guess what? We have prob'ly 12-15 mature oak trees around the house, five of which are right up against the house! Two on the east, two more on the west side, and another on the north.  ~hlp~ We also have five gorgeous white pines which line the river road & are far enough away that they don't bother me. But I suspect some enterprising young squirrel buried a pinecone some 40-50 years ago, because there's another pine quite close to the house, and it's a clone of the white pines on the river road. It was just a wee sprout - about four feet tall - when we moved here, but by now it's a fully mature beautiful white pine like its kinfolk on the river road.

7115 steps yesterday. After breaking 8K Friday I was a bit sore yesterday and planned to back off a bit so I was surprised to get over 7K.  Nice that backing off gets me still over the 6K mark.
We have quite a few pine trees on the property but the biggest and oldest is a Digger Pine that is only about 20 feet from the house and is about 80 feet tall.  It has pinecones about the size of a pineapple and about as heavy so you don't want to park a car under it.  This time of year it has little fuzzy buds that are full of pollen, thousands of them, and right now that is the major source of pollen here.

8,882 steps yesterday.

Besides pine trees, there are all sorts of weeds and grasses growing in the fields all around me.

Only 3137 steps yesterday.  I decided to ease off and recoup for a bit and I do feel better today.  I think that is a good thing to do occasionally.

You should take it easy Wally. Your best will come.

Sarge insists that we take a couple of days off from the gym. The easy time is for repair and build-up.

6285 steps yesterday.  It did feel better to take a break for a day and I don't want to overdo it.  It is good that 6K is now a normal day for me.
