Father's surgery

Thank you all for the birthday wishes.
As I had posted there, my father was admitted on the same day for bypass surgery. There were 100 % blockages according to the doctors. Post surgery, there were complications of internal bleeding. It seems the blood thinners were responsible for that. Spent the past 3 days in a miserable condition. Now things are stabilised and he is out of danger. Still in the ICU but doing better.

I am wishing your Dad a speedy recovery!  I went through something like this with my Dad when he was only 47.  Back in those days they had a lot less they could do for these problems, and it was extremely risky.   It was a struggle, but he made it and lived to be 69 which was a gift we all appreciated.  His overall health was not as good as it could have been, but it really did not slow him down after about a year of recovery....

Keep your head up, today they can do so much more than before.   I'd bet good money your Dad would come out of this fine....

Starsign - glad your father is doing better.  I hope he has a smooth and speedy recovery and can be back home soon.

Glad he is doing better.  It is a scary thing to deal with, but hoping for a speedy recovery.  He should feel a lot better after he has recovered.

I remember how scared I was when my mom had her bypass back in 1980, but she fought to recover & lived another thirty-some years. So happy he's getting stronger, and best wishes for your peace of mind.  ~hug~

Thank you everyone, for the good wishes and the prayers. They certainly helped. At one stage the doctors gave us a good fright by rolling him back into the OT after about 2-3 hours after the bypass. But the bleeding did stop. He's fine and at home now.  ;D
We are very relieved.
