I think that one of the benefits of keeping my bg in control is that I heal quite nicely from any wounds and that has made the MOHS surgeries from skin cancer much easier to deal with.

I have always been a fast healer, before and after diabetes dx. I can't explain it, and it has surprised some of my drs, knowing that I am now diabetic. I don't catch "bugs" either. I guess I just have a very strong immune system.

That is one of the things I don't like about most of these reports. They all seem to throw all people with diabetes into the same group and don't take into consideration that some people with diabetes keep their bg in a normal range. It is like all people that have diabetes have the same problems no mater what their A1c is. I wish they would make a better distinction of what the people in their study are actually like. Two people that have diabetes and one has an A1c in the 5% range and one has an A1c in the 8% range are not going to have the same results.
