85 (4.71) this morning.  We were at 29° (-1.67°C) this morning so still can be below freezing in May.  It is supposed to be about the same as yesterday, 64° (17.8°C), for the rest of the week and then Friday it starts to warm up and we may start getting into Summer weather.
@Tamagno, I am sure the tube is an annoyance but at least being able to eat real food has to be a big plus.

102 (5.65) this morning.  We had our first 80 (26.67 C) deg F day yesterday followed by another gorgeous day today.  Just before I went to bed last evening, I listened at the open window and could hear several birds softly singing in the trees....must have been some kind of 'birdie' lullaby.  I love being able to have the windows open now.

Thanks, SKB (although perhaps, as you say, it lies beyond my comprehension).

Rumors of summer weather this week. Good deal!

87 (4.82) this morning.  We had an overnight low of 32° (0°C) so it was a couple of degrees warmer but it looks like high temp will remain around the low 60's with winds for the next three days and then it starts to warm up.
The brush fire a couple of days ago that was not too far away was contained after only about 500 acres so that is good but it just emphasizes that fire season is on it's way.  The rain we had over the winter was great but it also causes the brush and grass to thrive and fire danger is higher when it gets so hot and dry, as it always is.
My BIL and I that own this house together have an opportunity to purchase a very nice house in town and are considering putting this property on the market.  Love the area but it gets harder to deal with the remoteness as you get older.

My DIL had a potential stroke last night.  Doctor won't know for sure until they run more tests on her.

That it does! We're in the same boat . . . just waiting it out as long as we can since we so love the solitude out here in the country in our 100-year-old house (so great to look all directions and see no other people or houses. But we can't say 'peace & quiet', because it's anything but quiet with the birds tweeting loudly all day and the coyotes howling all night!  ;) ). We had to start buying our firewood a few years ago, and BH stopped gardening a long time ago, so we're a lot less self-sufficient that when we got here.

Even though the towns are small, it will be a terrible jolt when we have to move and learn to cope with people around us all the time.  :(  We really ARE hermits!

92 (5.10) this morning.  We actually got some rain yesterday, .06 inches so not a torrential downpour but it did get things wet.  There is a storm front going through and it will be windy for sure and even a slight chance for a little bit of more rain.  It clears up and starts getting warmer Thursday.
@Grammabear, hope that your DIL is OK.

This house was built in 1953 so it isn't 100 years old but still it does go back.  It has had extensive remodeling in the 25 years we have owned it.  The house we are looking at belongs to a good friend and the price is quite good.  Town is about 35,000 population so not that big but much more crowded than the 20 homes in the area we are in now.  The nearest two neighbors are weekenders only and come up here only a few times a year.  Next nearest neighbor is about 1/2 mile up the road so it will take an adjustment.
