Barb, that looks like a lot of damage. Thankfully, you're safe and the house was able to take the load. You'll know the extent of the damage once the tree is cut and removed.

Jeeze Barb, thank goodness you are safe and hopefully the damage isn't too bad.  We also have several large cottonwood trees around this house and have had some large limbs come down but were lucky that there was no real damage.

Ooops bsg, that was close. Thank God you are safe and so is your house. I'm sure that was really scary.

Wally, I hope you have a smooth experience shifting. A move is tiring to say the least. And then it does take some time getting adjusted to the new settings and placements.

skb, you were spot on. I have a very bad throat infection and a terrible cough. No wonder the numbers are all over the place. 98 last night before dinner and a 107 today morning. I wonder what goes on within to raise the Bg.

Barb, that is not the way to wake up; I'm so glad you weren't injured!

Hopefully, your insurance will put things right...

Barb - I'm not glad you had this calamity, but I am glad you were not injured and your Boo is safe.  Because I live in a part of the country known as "tornado alley", anytime the wind comes up I get stressed out.  I hope that the service people are able to get started on putting your home right again.  In the meantime, sounds like you and Boo could use some 'lap time'.

92 (5.10) this morning.  No stormy weather here, thank goodness.
Rocky, when the body responds to illness many things happen.  Increased cortisol and raising the bg is part of the response.  I have been amazed that it is not unusual to see a rise in bg without any apparent cause precedes symptoms by a day or two and is kind of an early warning system.

Thanks  everyone!  It was very scary and I immediately thanked God that we were safe and the damage was not nearly as bad as it could have been.

The tree guy I called said he couldn't get the tree off the roof.  He's a climber but doesn't have a lift. He put me in touch with another guy and he is coming out tomorrow.  The ins adjuster is coming tomorrow too.  It is going to be very hectic here for a while, what with repairs and removal.  Boo is going to be a mess.

Yep, lots of lap time yesterday and today.

Wally, hope your move goes smoothly.

Thanks. That is exactly what happened. I'm a bit better today but still have a sore throat. My numbers are up by about 20 points, at least the morning number. 90 last evening's before dinner and a 110 this morning. I'm sipping a lot of herbal tea. Hope to be better by evening today.

BSG, removing that tree looks like hard work. Hope your insurance guys and the helpers do a neat job.

85 (4.71) this morning.  As it has been there is no change in weather, temp. at least, except for a bit of wind later today and tonight.
Yeah Barbara, clean up is a lot of work.  Fortunately we have been able in the past to do our own clean up and any repairs needed but it gets more difficult.

81 (4.49) this clear morning, 89 (4.93) at bedtime last night.

The tree guy is starting the removal tomorrow.  He said it would probably take 2 days.  His quote was 1/2 of what the adjuster allowed so I make some $$ for something else that will probably go over. My ins is great! The payment was sent electronically to my checking account today!!

Tomorrow I have a general contractor coming to give me a quote, and Thursday another one.  My next door neighbor gave me 4 names.  He is a welder and knows who is honest and reliable around here.

I probably won't see my cat for the duration of repairs. Poor guy he's been in hiding since 11AM.

Barb, it's nice to have helpful neighbors. From your pictures it appears that you will need the extra money for repairs of other things as well.
