101 this morning.

The humidity here is brutal.  My hubby went out to pick up debris from the lawn in preparation for mowing the grass this Saturday, and came back in the house an hour later soaking wet from sweating so much.  He had to take a shower before he could go to work.  I hope the humidity improves by the weekend.

86 (4.76) this smoky, noisy morning.  95 (5.26) at bedtime last night.

The banging began about 10AM and has gone on non-stop all day.  Boo has been under a chair the whole time with eyes as big as saucers. Poor guy.

Barb - I feel sorry for Boo.  Maybe after the workmen go home for the day, he will appreciate the quiet and begin to relax a little.  It isn't easy for you either I'm sure.

SKB- i was going to ask you for the LC dessert recipe but then read the rest of the high numbers sentence :(

For whatever it is worth, I've kept the recipe here;

It's going to take a few weeks of work on this place to get it ready to put on the market.  Nothing major but some clean-up, painting and the like.

Hope you get a good price Wally.

250 this morning.

Procedure yesterday went fine; I'm hoping there'll be just one more. Solid (if soft) food today!

I'll be doing some cooking today and am deciding what to make. Some sort of Thai salad sounds good...

89 (4.93) this morning.  Wow, the weather service predicts that it will be 95° (35°C) every day for the next 7 days !  Yesterday we hit 94°.  I'm not complaining because 95° is not bad here with the low humidity.  It just is funny that every day is supposed to be the same.  We are supposed to have a chance of thunderstorms next week so humidity may be higher.
@Tamagno, I am glad you can enjoy cooking some real food.
@Rocky, I am confident we will get a good price for this house.  The real estate market in the area is good right now and there are a lot of locals that would like to move up here.  There is no electric service here but we have a very nice solar system large enough to run a large house with a 20K diesel generator for backup.  The house we are buying in town is from a local contractor and friend so we got a very good price on that.

90 (4.99) this mostly cloudy morning,
86 (4.76) at bedtime last night.

Temps have been pretty steady at 80°F (26.6°C) lately.  The winds have changed so not so smoky today which is good.

@Tamagno, glad everything went well and you are looking forward to some real food.

I'm quite curious what's a "good price " in various parts of the world. For instance, I'm building an apartment block in one of the suburbs of Mumbai where a residential apartment sells for around $ 200/- a square foot. In upmarket areas that price would be $ 1200/- or more.

203 this morning.

SKB, here in northwestern Connecticut houses go for around $200/square foot depending on acreage and location. Most of the area towns are zoned for a minimum of two acres with many houses situated on 3+ acres. You can figure on about $100/square foot for new construction not counting the building lot.

Taxes, however, are so high and there are no local jobs or industry, so real estate has been in the doldrums for nearly ten years. We'll be hard pressed to sell when (or if) the time comes.

Wally, your arrangement sounds great!

My bad. I must have been day-dreaming or still in my sleep for posting those figures. The rates for the area I'm building in are around $ 200/- a square foot, and up market locations, over $ 1200/-

78 (4.32) this morning.  Next week we are looking at a 20% chance of thunderstorms all week from Monday to Friday.  Thankfully it's only a small chance but there could be a downpour at any time.
SKB, I guess cost of housing is relative to the area but here we are in a rural area.  There are 2 1/2 acres of land, a 2500 sq. ft. main house, a small cottage in back with 1 bedroom, 1 bath and kitchen and living room.  Two garages, one a 3 car garage and one a 4 car garage with a shop area.  Probably $80,000.00 in solar equipment as there is no electricity available here.
We are expecting to get around $300,000.00 for the place and the house we are buying in town is $175,000.00 but that is a really good deal and from a good friend who is a contractor and built it originally for himself.

84 (4.65) this partly cloudy morning, 95 (5.26) at bedtime which is at least 3 hours early than normal!!

Roof is finished today, tomorrow is a quiet day until inside repairs begin on Monday. I think I am as stressed as poor Boo is!

Thanks for sharing that info Wally. Real estate prices are indeed dictated by location. I have farm land some 100 kms from home. Rates for land in the area would probably start at $ 30,000/- an acre. This could be 5-6 times higher if located on the main highway.
