We're in the midst of monsoon and the rains are missing. Though some northern states are facing a deluge and floods

Darn the chocolate ice cream. Woke up with a 97 today. I'm out with some friends and have to remind myself to keep away from the beer.  :P
My life is based on a true story.

96 (5.32) this smoky morning, 97 (5.37)at bedtime last night.

We could use some monsoon weather here for sure!  We have so many fires burning in Western Montana!  Last I read something like 55,000 acres are on fire at various locations.  The one near me is at 6700 acres now, still growing and 0% control.

Good luck with the move Wally hope it goes smoothly.

The work is finally done!! ~yss~
I have felt totally exhausted today and my back is aching.  It didn't help that an unknown worker walked into my house this morning and I was still in bed!! He was supposed to come at 8AM but showed up 20 minutes early.  My day was out of kilter from the start. But it is over for now. This has been an exhausting process!

Next is the trees but I am waiting until Fall.  Poor Boo is so traumatized, everyone was gone by 4PM and just now (8:45PM) he has come out from under the chair.

Good Luck on the move Wally and I hope you enjoy your new home.

Barb - I'm glad that your work is mostly done except for the trees.  I truly hope you and Boo can spend lap time together really soon.  It sounds like you both could use some time together.

91 (5.04) yesterday.  Just got the internet connected  ~wut~
Yesterday was a lot of work, as expected, but all of the big stuff is moved and in place.  It's going to take time to get all of the stuff put away and there is still plenty of smaller items to move but we are here ! Thanks for all of the well wishes.

Glad the move is going well Wally!

It is so smoky here, I only go out to feed the birds. Life is settling down, the quiet is lovely!

Great. Hope you get settled down in your new house quickly. It all depends on how long you've stayed in your old one. Getting used to he new places and settings can take some time. I still dream of my old house which we vacated in 1985. Subconsciously, that is still home for me.

102 last night pre-Dinner and 128 today morning. I'm using a new pack of strips and these are reading very high without apparent cause.

Wally, I'm glad your main move is over and Barb that your place is settling down! It's so disarming when your house is in an uproar...

101 (5.01) this morning.  Did fast food last night, Carl's Jr. cheeseburger, for the first time in a long while.  Pretty good burger, just tossed the bun.  Still have a lot of unpacking to do and stuff like cookware are still waiting in a box.
SKB, we were in the old house since 1995 so it has been a while.  Enough time to accumulate a lot of junk for sure.  I'll miss many of the things there but there are advantages to being in the new location and it's a nice house.
Barbara, WHEW, I'm sure it is a great relief to have the work done and I am sure  ~ cat ~ is quite happy also.

89 (4.93) this still smoky morning, 92 (5.1) at bedtime last night.

Yes, it is a great relief to have the work done! It was so quiet yesterday, it felt odd.  Boo is still a little jumpy but better today.

Wally, you've inspired me.  I need to start paring down.  I've been here 13 years.  When I moved I put all the boxes in the garage and only brought in things I use on a regular basis.  My garage is still filled with many, many boxes and tubs full of "stuff" that I need to get rid of/donate or sell. My late DH was a real pack rat and some of the things have sentimental value for me...

118 today morning. Ate lunch & dinner outside yesterday, so was expecting worse. I guess the extra vodka helped.

Chilly nights and hot days make for typical New England August weather. Yesterday was beautiful and I expect the same today.
