Hello Vahit,

That is a very smart move I think. There is no harm in experimenting with food and trial and error will teach you all there is to know. We say, even if you don't trust what we say, at least trust your meter. It is a perfectly working scientifically manufactured gadget which is programmed to always tell you the truth. Make friends with your meter and it will tell you what you can or cannot eat. Welcome to the LCHF club. This is a sure shot way to better health.

Hi Vahit and welcome.  I'm glad you found this site.  As others have said, the knowledge and support provided here is extremely  helpful.  When I was first diagnosed, about 2+ years ago, the information provided by posters here was invaluable.  If I had only gone by what the doctor and nutritionist suggested, I know my BG would not have come under good control.  I am an enthusiastic believer in LCHF (low carb high fat) way of eating, because I have seen first hand that it works for me.

People still cannot believe that I have not only kept my BG numbers in control, but have actually lost weight, eating high fat.  But it has to be done in combination of course with low carb, and cutting out the sugars.  It can be daunting at first, but now that I've been eating this way for a couple years, I know what I can eat, and what I should avoid.  I hope you will continue to read and post here often :)

Vahit,

All I can say is, Good for you. From one newcomer to another, I was wearing your shoes some months ago, and was as doubtful as you are now. But I did determine to give this method a try. Look where I am today. I started with super high 3 digit numbers, did not have a meter and didn't know what to do with myself. Today, I'm consistently between upper 70s to low 90s. Trust me, these guys know their stuff. Do what it takes, but get your numbers down and you will never want to go back. Very best to you. And have a good day too.
My life is based on a true story.

Thank you everyone for all your advise and making me feel comfortable. I will begin to test myself whenever I can. Since I am out a lot, it may not be always possible. I wll try.

Have a nice day.
