What did you do this weekend?

Oh we had a quiet getaway to a nice resort. Stuck to LCHF and the numbers were fantastic. I suppose it was the change of air.

i worked all of the weekend. the weekends here are fri / sat.

im in saudi arabia abt 200 clicks from riyadh near the persian gulf. these guys hv friday off. things are very controlled here.

Thanks for answering.  Yes, Saudi Arabia I had a cousin who lived there with an oil company years back and they told me it was very controlled.  One guy made his hot water tank into a still where they made beer.  They bathed with a neighbor.

Spent a week in Oman this March & the last year as well. They too have Fridays off.

This weekend we'll be socializing. Meeting with up with some old friends. But I will be watching what we eat. Don't want the BG to be out of control.

This weekend was spent hugging my grand daughters and their parents as much as I could and trying really hard to keep up with all of them!!!  Loved every minute of it!!

Was down and out (uti) so didn't do much except sleep

My in laws are here so my kids are pampered a lot. We are planning to take them to the beach for the first time in a couple of weeks. Cant wait to see their reaction.

I need to get back at exercising, That helps so much in eating right.

Rocky - my father worked in Saudi Arabia many years ago on a big water project.  I remember him telling us that women could not drive there, nor even ride a bike.  Also, if a woman wanted to work at a job, she had to get the permission of every male in her family (not just her husband, or her father, but brothers, uncles, etc.)  I wonder if that's still the case.

This past Friday, my one and only child (son) graduated from high school.  Naturally, it was the hottest day we've had all year.  I was literally dripping with sweat as I ran around at 3:00 p.m. doing errands, picking up his cake, balloons, flowers.  It is a bittersweet time for me - feeling so proud of him, and yes, a little proud of myself for making it through 18 years as a single mom.  A feeling of accomplishment for us both. 

My blood pressure had been going up and both my doctor and I were worried.  Turns out, I was stressing over events in my life.  Once I realized that, and also began having a glass of red wine every day, my BP is now back down even lower than it was!

I'm another one who wilts rapidly in the heat . . . we had to shop the other day when I'd have much rather stayed home. My bad neck was cranky and I had to wear my soft cervical collar, so by the time we got home, that foam collar was soaking wet with sweat - my head sweats worst of all & drips down my neck.    I suspect I was really meant to be an Eskimo!
 
Isn't that glass of red wine the best therapy?!

Rhiannon- congratulations on your son's graduation. Such a proud moment. My three year old son, a few months back, performed a group dance on the stage in front of thousands of people. I was crying like crazy. I can just imagine the pride you must have felt!

I have never had alcohol (assuming liquor chocolates dont count0 but red wine is starting to sound interesting!

yup, things are as bad as they used to be, but thr is word that under the new king some improvements are around the corner. hv to keep hope. i will be headed home in another 2 months. thankfullly.
