What did you do this weekend?

I think since the accident will surely be reported to this woman's insurance carrier, they might non-renew her policy at the next renewal date.  Her insurance rates will go sky high, if they aren't there already.  At some point, we all will need to accept that we should leave the driving to others.  Hopefully before we run head first into a grocery store.

Did some more moving of items to the new home this Saturday, and went up and down stairs at least 4 times, plus moving boxes into and out of the car, up the walkway, etc.  Good exercise that day.  Played bingo on Sunday - more sedentary :)  Have made arrangements to rent a U-Haul and the big move is on Saturday.  Searched low carb recipes on line but didn't find anything new.  I'll probably make up a sort of cheesy chicken and bacon dish tonight, with zucchini.

Shanny

((((MJ)))) I just don't envy you this move.

Thanks Shanny - I keep feeling twinges of brief pain in my abdomen today and now I'm wondering if I have a hernia from lifting and moving boxes (I hope not!).

This week-end, I moved most of my stuff out of the townhouse where I was living, and into my sister's home about an hour away.  Of course, it was HOT.  My son and a friend of his did the heavy lifting and moving.  I must say, I was pleasantly surprised that the U-Haul van I rented was so easy to drive and the A/C worked great.

The new place is a two-story house and my bedroom is upstairs.  So I go up and down those stairs multiple times per day.  I can already feel a difference in my leg muscles, which is cool.

I am still figuring out the shared dinner meals, but so far have been able to eat LCHF, while the rest of the family still eats low fat.  I just add butter and cheese to the steamed vegetables, have extra avocado on the side, etc.  I made chocolate coconut balls for dessert last night and everyone liked them, but of course only had one each due to the high fat content.  LOL.  More for me I guess.

I have been tearful lately, and I'm sure that's because I haven't adjusted to living apart from my son.  As times goes on, I know it will get easier.  Going in next week for some blood work, and hope my numbers continue to be good.  I've been getting good readings so all should be okay.

My reunion week finally came to an end . . . it was a wonderfully successful reunion and really revitalized the family. Twice the number of guests as in recent years, lots of families with little kids, and a lot of cousins were pleased to see that we could successfully find ways to celebrate besides reserving a hotel and having them cater everything - that gets REALLY expensive!  My sisters' planning skills really paid off - we came out essentially even - by doing most of the cooking & setting up ourselves.

We got back to Missouri yesterday, but immediately looked for a motel room . . . I was totally washed up. After I'd slept about 15 hours, I began to feel human again! So today we drove the last 90 miles home, picked up the mail and the furballs, and have spent the afternoon trying to get the house aired out & cooled off.

Will try to get caught up here & back in the swing of things. It's good to be home.

~wow~ Fantastic. And a great pic too.
In India family structure & bonds are still very strong. Getting that many people (in the immediate family) together is not a problem at all. At marriages & such events people do come together, but to do it just as a Reunion is commendable.

Great to have you back.  ;D

As I prob'ly said earlier, there are nine branches of the family - eight sons and one daughter of my own paternal grandparents. Each of these branches have reunions of their own too, and then every two years we have this whole tribe reunion. The weddings, funerals, etc., are all extra!  ;D

Sounds like things went really well at the reunion Shanny!  I wish my family would do something like that, but know it will ever happen.

It's great that you had a grand family reunion. The photo is really nice. Gives us some sense as to who we are talking to.  ;D

Just wanted to say that I am going out with friends for the weekend, so I won't be posting for a couple of days. Hope to have a good time.
