Where is Shanny

I am sorry to hear that Shanny! It is tough to lose a pet and I remember how much I broke down. I thought i was prepared as we know that their lives are short. But it is never an easy decision to put them down.

I hope you can give some rescue a home. You will know when it is the right time. I put in a word with everyone i knew when my dog who passed away was still lying in my lap. She was a rescue and I firmly believe that the one who is supposed to share lives with you is always waiting and will cross paths when destined. I just wanted to speed up the process :)

I wish i could do more than just the few words I have. But i believe they look down on us and I hope you look up there and smile through your tears. As that is what I would want when I am looking down on my loved ones.

On the old computer, one of my browsers was set to open to this site, and I need to fix up something like that again - except that I'm no longer using two browsers.

Ok. I can help you with that in case you are using Chrome browser (I'm familiar with that);

1. In the browser's address bar you can type www.diabetic.pub and the login page will open up.
2. In the address bar to the extreme right is a Star. Click on that and the page will be Bookmarked
3. To the right of the star are 3 dots/asterix marks, Click on that to open your browser tools.
4. Scroll down to Bookmarks & you will see the Diabetic Pub login page there.
5. Left click (keep pressed) on the DP page and drag it to the space just below the address bar.

That will place The DP Bookmark always under the address bar and you can single click it to open the login page.

I am so very sorry to hear you and your hubby are without furballs.  You gave both of them such a good home for many years.  I know the pain of being without a pet.  When the time comes, if you desire to adopt another rescue, then you will know it.

Yeah Shanny, getting used to a new system and setting things up to try and get back to what you are familiar with can be quite a challenge.  Just when you get things the way you want it seems the computer gremlins decide to mess everything up.
I feel your pain at the loss of your friends, we had to have our dog put down a while ago and it is sad.  We adopted a new puppy about two months ago and it can be a challenge.  In this case she was not house broken and had an urge to rip and tear things like sofa cushions !  All is good now but it can be a lot of work.  I think next time I would go with an older dog.  I like cats but my Rottweiler doesn't.

Oh Shanny!  ~hug~ ~hug~ ~hug~ I worried about Fritz after Waylon passed.  So sorry you had to lose him too.

I don't know what I'd do if anything happened to Boo. Sadly he has been throwing up a lot lately, not sure what is going on with him. May mean a visit to the vet which he will hate!

You all are too good to me!  <3

I so believe the same as you, Paulomi, that there are furballs out there waiting to come live with us. Waylon had gotten here under his own steam 18 years ago. We walked out on the porch one morning and here came this cat yowling its head off & what a skinny dirty mess he was. That was our first look at Waylon! Fritz came several years later when we followed an ad & found a very skinny bedraggled dog & couldn't NOT take him, since his dogsitters weren't taking very good care of him.

Wally - we've already realized that we're way too old & decrepit to handle a puppy or a kitten . . . just too much activity with those little cuties! We'll need a middle-age pet so we can keep up with it!

And skb? I do have the forum bookmarked on the bookmark bar - I actually have a Pub folder there for all things 'Pub'.

BTW (and this is for all the forum faithfuls) we also have a Bookmark & Notepad feature nestled under the Profile button. You can bookmark any page for later reading and make small personal notes.

Shanny, it's a pleasure to see you posting regularly.
If you want your browser to open up 'a' specific page, go to the Browser settings and you'll find a Manage start-up pages setting there. Enter the site URL and there you go.

I second that Shanny- Puppies are so cute and fun and all over the place. I sometimes want to get a puppy for my kids but then we are out at work all day and its unfair for a puppy to be alone all day. My last 2 rescues were 2 years+. The current one is actually 6-7 years but no one seems to know the exact age.

That's what I meant to say in my previous post . . . I do have a diabetes folder on my bookmarks bar, but I also have my home page set to open to our forum.

As one of my favorite high school teachers used to say, I had my tongue twisted around my eye teeth & couldn't see what I was saying!  :D

Haven't heard that saying from your favorite high school teacher in a good many years.  Thanks for the smile.
