He's just fishing around trying to find something

I think so too. If he's confused about the pancreatitis, how can he be trusted for other things?

176 this morning.

Grammabear, I use G5 and also experience the "signal loss" error with some regularity; whether or not it's worse than the G4, I can't really recall. Generally, I find the G5 easier to use than G4 with Bluetooth, but there'll always be signal loss with Bluetooth beyond 20-40 feet plus, I'm sure, other factors unique to Dexcom. My biggest issue is sensor failure during warm up.

Thinking about your doc, BigSkyGal reminds me of something I learned while teaching, vis, you always want to do something to help the person who's come to you, so you most always identify at least some feature you can improve. Could be something as simple as that going on with your doc.

A beautiful day here yesterday as well. I doubt we'll be so fortunate today as we've rain in the forecast.

Auntiekris and Shanny, I keep thinking I'll get some bourbon to add to my lunch smoothie, but haven't managed it yet. My grandfathers doc actually prescribed it for him when he was older with questionable results, but it can't be worse than a lot of prescription drugs I've been given.

My maternal grandfather was a total abstainer from alcohol, until his doctor prescribed a glass of red wine every evening for his heart.  Grandfather religiously imbibed his glass of wine and claimed he felt better for it.

92 this morning.  Weather remains pretty consistent here.  Quite nice and not too hot or too cold.  I guess that is Goldilocks conditions !  Heat/air guys will be here today to re-do the ducting for the new heat/AC unit.
Barbara, my liver enzymes were high a while back and my PC asked me to check with my gastroenterologist for his opinion.  He had me take an abdominal ultrasound and after that he was satisfied that there was nothing wrong.  It seems that they go up and down with me also.

Wally, my Oncologist did order an abdominal CT scan. That is where all the Gallstones/Pancreatitis started. After he determined there was no cancer there, the Oncologist passed on the gallbladder/pancreas/liver issues to my pcp. My pcp ordered an abdominal ultrasound and from that he got the pancreatitis dx. When that passed, he said my liver was a problem and if I didn't get the numbers down he'd send me to a liver specialist for a liver biopsy. He proceeded to tell me how excruciatingly painful that was. I think he was trying to scare me into following his direction re the no alcohol... Oh and he said if I quit alcohol I could lose some weight...then he quickly said I was not fat but still... I am 5'4" and weigh between 145 and 148# no way do I want to lose weight!!

179 this morning.

Wound up making my wife kettle popcorn with chocolate yesterday. I'd been surprised to find out how much she'd been paying for the stuff pre-made so decided to give it a try. Well, it'd been many years since I'd made any outside of the microwave variety and I was surprised how easy it is to pop in some coconut oil in a pot. The instructions I followed, however, made too much and I clumsily spilled the first batch all over the kitchen floor. Did better the second time, but used too much chocolate and ended up with something more like chocolate popcorn balls.

I tasted a tiny bit but that produced glucose well over 250 so I can't recommend the stuff for us; might as well be eating a candy bar and I don't see any way of making such a thing that's actually low carb.

Any time I've tasted wine or liquor in recent years I find the taste repugnant and I can't find a way to disguise it. I recall from my early years liking feeling a bit drunk, but can't seem to drink enough for that now. Can't imagine why anyone would drink it if you didn't want a bit of drunkenness...

IMO you are underweight by about 6-7 lbs. I don't see any scope for weight loss.

Maybe this will help.
I drink vodka this way. 1 shot of vodka (30ml) + about 15 ml of Tonic Water + 1 slice of seasonal citric fruit like sweet lime or orange + about 50 ml of soda water (aerated) + 1 cube of ice if required. It does disguise / subdue the taste of the vodka.

Drunkenness ? That's debatable. I drink out of habit and for the taste and formality of it. 30 ml will not get me drunk, ever. I come from Punjab, the Irish part of India.

Another painting weekend we hope.  We had hoped last weekend would be the completion of this project, but it was not.

96 this morning.  Lots of clouds this morning but they are supposed to clear up and it is going to be a sunny day.  We are at 59° right now heading to a high of 80°.
Barbara, my thought was that my liver enzymes seem to run high sometimes and then come back down but the ultrasound seemed to show that it was normal.  In other words, a second opinion may be useful.
Alcohol was never brought up in my case but I rarely have a drink anymore.  Once in a while I will have a light beer or a glass of wine but not very often.

111 this cool morning, 98 at bedtime last night.

I think he is grasping at straws to explain away the nausea and lack of appetite I had.  He was sure I had gall stones, nope, then that I had pancreatitis, nope again...no typical symptoms. Now with the liver enzymes... I told him long ago when I first started with him that my dad was a severe alcoholic, many binges a month, just awful. I think he lit on it to explain my earlier symptoms thinking I was the same. I drink maybe a couple of shots of gin or maybe whiskey an evening, I can't remember the last time I was even buzzed, let alone drunk.  I enjoy the taste, and it relaxes me, but drunk NO! And I am part Irish.

152 this morning.

Don't think I've any Irish, but my dad was an alcoholic also, BigSkyGal, and finally died of complications of cirrhosis. I just never tell the docs (typical child of alcoholic response).

Thanks, SKB, it looks like a good recipe you've provided. I used to love citrussy drinks so yours sounds interesting. I used to love good frozen margaritas as well, but doubtless loaded with sugar.

Well, I did stop at the liquor store yesterday, but the wine I got wound up in the pot roast I made. In the end, it's likely just as well I stay off alcohol considering my other meds...

I posted this morning and it has since disappeared.

We had a hard frost last night and there is the "S" word in our forecast.  It is hard to believe we had 83 just 10 days ago.  Not quite ready for Winter.
