94 this morning.  We hit 99° yesterday so not quite over the 100° mark but that will change today.  Predicted high is 108° and for the rest of the month HOT !  Interesting that for the previous days since it warmed up we hit our high at around 3PM and yesterday we hit our high at 6PM.

Tamagno, I understand your reluctance.  I had to look for all new doctors when I retired and started Medicare.  Before that I had Kaiser insurance and used all of their doctors.  It can be quite a challenge to start all over.

Barbara, great numbers !  Yeah, I saw his reply after I posted.  I am really taken aback with the comment that you would have to be in extreme pain.  My orthopedic doctor has never made that a condition and will see me when ever I make an appointment.

92 this blue sky morning, 93 at bedtime last night.

Yeah Wally, I am really annoyed with this dr. Right now my back is pretty good, but if it flares up again, I'm calling the OD first!

151 this morning.

In pondering the matter of doctor accessibility I did realize another aspect; you only need a referral once to see specialists but thereafter you can call directly. In fact, I've had a few that were hard to get rid of and kept wanting more tests and appointments.

I saw this recipe for making zero-carb pizza crust yesterday using pork rinds. Haven't tried it yet, but it sounds interesting as far as flavor and texture and might be a good alternative to cauliflower:

1/4 cup ground pork rinds
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 egg
1tsp Italian seasoning

Pre-heat oven to 350*. Spray or oil a tin pie pan. In a bowl mix the egg, pork rinds, parmesan cheese, and seasoning well. Pour mixture into pan and spread to the sides from the middle by pressing outwards with your hands. If the mixture sticks to your hands wet them with water and it will spread smoothly. Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and add whatever desired toppings and put the pizza back under the broiler until toppings are hot and cheese is melted.

98 this morning.  We got up to 106° yesterday and are headed to 110° today so happy summer solstice to all in the Northern hemi !
I thought that I would try fasting yesterday so I just had my BP coffee in the morning and ate nothing for the rest of the day.  It's been 24 hours with nothing to eat and I did just fine.  I'm surprised at my fasting bg this morning but I guess I am seeing DP.
I may just do this once a week to see what difference it makes, if any.
Yeah Tamagno, that is the way it works with Medicare and my supplementary insurance.  Once you have been referred to a specialist you can just make an appointment afterwards.
I have made pizza crust with cheese before and it actually came out OK.  I have the recipe around here somewhere but I don't think it used pork rinds.

90 this morning.

It continues to rain here and flooding in places as well.  Forecast for the weekend is "hot and humid" which always seems to happen on the weekend when we have errands to do.

My cold also seems to be hanging on and I wish it would just go.

I have a cough and runny nose, but it's all allergies. I wish those would just go too!  ~cof~

Tamagno

121 this morning.

It seems, Grammabear and Shanny, you've got a couple of those house guests that just won't leave. Hope they'll do so soon!

Wally, the fasting business is interesting and seems to work fine for you. Once a week sounds reasonable and certainly manageable.

Yesterday was terribly busy here as I got some mowing, shopping and chores all done. I thought maybe I'd sleep especially well, but somehow didn't. Perhaps tonight...

120 this morning.

Today we have to take my husband's car into the dealership for an 'airbag recall' that is supposed to replace a defective airbag.  The dealership is smack dab in the middle of town and in front of dealership there are road repairs being made.  Not looking forward to this trip at all.

81 this morning.  We got to 108° yesterday and heading to 110° today.  You really don't want to spend much time outside in the afternoon.
Yeah Tamagno, I didn't really have any problem not eating for 24 hours.  I don't know what affect it had but it may take a few times to really find out.
Missing Barbara this morning, hope all is well.

I'm here.. $hit sometimes happens. 103this blue sky morning, 105 at bedtime last night.

I feel like I am living in a jungle. I really need to get the weeds/grass cut before fire season hits. That really scares me.

163 today

From reading this site I think you suggest not to eat bread, rice, vegetables fruits and such. Pretty difficult I would have to say.

Tamagno

165 this morning.

Gosh, Sugarcoated, you've swerved directly into the heart of the matter! Not only are we watching bread, fruit and rice, but all manner of carbohydrate that unfortunately lurks in a great many foods and has a direct influence on high glucose. A good starting point might be to count your daily carb intake to see where you stand. While most people are consuming over 300 grams daily we've found much better results with fewer than 100 and most of us less than 50 grams daily. Surprisingly, replacing that carbohydrate source of energy with fats is a singularly effective strategy. Good luck, and keep us posted how you're doing!

Sugarcoated,

That's some excellent advice you have received. I hope you will consider it and make an attempt at reducing your carbs intake. You will see good result within days.
