85 this morning.  It was a nice day yesterday with a high of 98° and the humidity here is around 15% so that is comfortable.  Starting out this morning at 68° at 6:00 AM but it is heading to 105°today and 110° Fridat through Monday.  I'll be spending more time inside.
This is the first 4th of July spent in town so i didn't know what to expect but suspected there would be locals setting off fireworks and that was right.  Some idiots were setting them off until late, like 1:00 - 2:00 AM and they were not "safe and sane" by any means.  We never had any fireworks at the old house in the mountains so it was a new experience for the dogs and they didn't like it at all.  It's over for another year now so they can get over it.
Tamagno, glad you are better.  Hope it stays that way.

It was pretty quiet here last night. thank goodness, but I have a feeling the weekend is not going to be so quiet.

Glad you are feeling better John.

Try to make sure they do a culture and use the right antibiotic, Grammabear. When I had a big run of them, I'd get a list of antibiotics along with the culture results showing their effectiveness against the specific bug in descending order; that way at least I'd know which were most likely to be worth it. UTIs are nasty, for sure!

More hot weather today, but I think no necessary forays out in it. Just a little cooking and hopefully welcome peace and quiet!

We will be having youngest son and grandson visit for the weekend.  I hope I can muster enough energy for that.

95 this morning.  We are heading to a high of 111° today with single digit humidity which is good for using an evaporative cooler but fire danger in the mountains is extremely high.  At least there are no thunderstorms predicted so no lightning but that could change next week.

High today was 92°F not as bad as some of you are having, but too hot for me!! Should cool down for a couple of days... who knows?

While it was an oddly cool night with temperatures in the 50s, I managed to sleep poorly. I seem once again smitten with wunderlust and am yearning for a good, long road trip. With one thing or another, however, such a thing just never seems quite possible. I suppose my fond memories of too much road-going junk food and over indulgence will have to stay memories.

Of course, I could just try having a couple of stiff drinks later...

95 this morning.  We didn't get to the predicted 111° yesterday but at 109° close enough.  Also it wasn't single digit humidity but 10% was close enough.  An unusual thing, it was hotter in Los Angeles than here in the desert.  The San Fernando Valley had a high of 117° and that was a record.

Careful what you mix 'em with, and this would work nicely with your bg!  ;)

I hate the hot weather and I think my bg does too!

Somehow, I never managed those drinks, Shanny. However, I went to bed about 7pm and pretty much slept until 5am and with that much sleep, who knows what I'll do today.

The temperatures out there are incredible, Wally. I'm not sure it'd even be safe to go out at all in that.

Supposed to get hot here as well, but nothing so dramatic as in CA...

88 this morning.  Yeah Tamagno, 110° yesterday an probably again today.  Overnight low was 86° and the bad news is that there are clouds in the sky and humidity is going to be higher.  I don't stay outside for very long but it is OK to go out for a bit.  I used to work in this type of heat and I worked outside so I am not new at it.  You don't want to be in the direct sun for very long.

Allergies are apparently getting to me, from what I don't know but it was windy yesterday and that seems to make it worse.  I was up and down last night but Benadryl seems to help a lot.

It's not as hot as where you are Wally, but it is too hot for me here at 88°F today.

Whenever it's hot like this I wonder how guys doing jobs like road work and construction manage being out in it all the time. I guess you just drink a lot of water and get used to it. Plenty of places in the world worse for sure.

I decided to go off one of my meds yesterday and it looks like my glucose is a bit the worse for it, though I can't seem to think just why. The drug I was given to improve energy and alertness (amofardonine) I suspect of being a partial cause of continued weight loss so I'm trying without. While I've much less energy, it'll likely take a while to get out of my system. I'll see how it goes over the next week or two.

We had a busy weekend with guests and a cookout.  The idea of cookouts sounded good to me as hubby did the cooking outside on the grill.  Grandson likes sausages or bratwurst, so he was delighted.  Grandson starts his first job today and I hope all goes well for him.
