I am not sure what size the ones you are having problems with but if too large you may want to try to resize them. 
I am not sure what program you could use for that, I have Photoshop and it is easy with that but maybe SKB would know what you could use if needed.

Todays was just 499x499 and a .jpeg which normally opens fine. Must be something else stopping it from loading...

It was a bunch of kittens in a bathroom sink and the quote was "Meet the new boy band INSYNK" it was really cute. Last time this happened I used another entry of the same quote and it posted fine.

Well, for size reduction almost any photo editor will do that.
The issue Barb has been having has something to do with Mac s/w. Even when saved as jpeg there is some encryption that clashes with this SMF s/w or at least that is what I think. For large size pictures you could just upload the picture and not insert it within the post. That way a thumbnail is created and can be viewed in original size when clicked.
