I found this study very interesting. These scientists investigated and found that between the liver, brain and pancreas, the beta cells play a predominant role in setting glucose targets. When they transplanted beta cells from one species to another, they found that the BG targets were changed to suit the glucose range of the donor species. Opens up a range of possibilities
