Vit D protects Beta cells

Researchers from The Salk Institute have found that Vitamin D has a protective role for pancreatic beta cells.

It is interesting that something like a vitamin has several things that the body may rely on for the ability to perform functions.  Vitamin D also has an effect on the Calcium levels in the body so I am taking 5000 iu a day to keep my levels normal.
